Branding & storytelling
Helping people tell their story. This is Planton Farm, based in Shropshire UK. I worked with Clare and a team of talented photographers and designers to create a brand that captured the essence of their regenerative farm and their unique accelerator programme aimed at guiding farmers on their own regen journey.
Going beyond farming
For three years, I worked on the regenerative agriculture festival in the UK called Groundswell as their consumer/environment PR. Getting more people interested in regenerative farming, and excited about what farmers were doing on the ground for biodiversity and nutrition, was my mission. I helped curate some of the talks around food, health and social justice, as well as the food experiences. Most of all, I thoroughly enjoyed inviting nature, food and health journalists along and watching as they’d catch the regen bug, enthralled in conversations and making new farmer friends.
Wild about changing the system
Andy Cato and the Wildfarmed team think big when it comes to changing the food system. They went against the grain, putting diversity at the centre of Andy’s farming system, made some incredible flour, got bakers on board to use it, convinced a lot of arable farmers to go nature-based so they could make more flour, and eventually partnered with Waitrose (one of the top UK supermarkets) to sell a regenerative bread. Early in their journey, I was along for the ride supporting on media relations and comms. Andy since came out to New Zealand on tour with Groove Armada and we took the opportunity to get more people thinking about where their bread/grains come from. Partnering with FAR and Eat New Zealand we hosted a memorable event, Breaking Bread with Andy, at Gatherings Christchurch with farmers, bakers and eaters, alongside a string of national media interviews.
